Where art meets cocktails.

Urban Wildlife was our watering hole in the warehouse district in the late ’80s, and famous for its art collection. I had to have something stupid hanging there. The body and face are lost wax casting and the scales are individually painted and glued fake fingernails. I forget how many but somewhere around 700,000. At least that’s what it felt like at the time.

First I sculpted the face and body out of clay. Then did a negative cast of it with plaster and filled that with epoxy resin and fiberglass. Painted the face and applied the fingernails, painted in cascading shades of red.
