As I mentioned, I love a good contest.

This was stupid on three levels: Andrew Lloyd Weber’s overly dramatic play, the company that offered a first prize of dinner for two anywhere, and me. My winning design was one of these, but I can’t remember which one. For dinner, we chose Jean-Louis, in the Watergate Hotel. That Washington, D.C., meal with wine came to $3,500.00. I felt guilty enough that I donated the same amount to a Minneapolis food shelf.
