Where to eat (primarily in Boston)
when reading one of my favorite authors.
Robert Parker wrote the bestselling series about a private eye working out of Boston, the legendary Spenser. While tough as nails, he had a heart of gold and a penchant for fine dining. In Parker’s 39 books (with an additional five by other authors), Spenser seems to visit at least one restaurant in each book, in many books three or four. I went back through all the books and compiled the list below, found them on the map and added contact information. The site is of course stupid and a tad wonky but works. So far, of the 200-plus restaurants mentioned, I’ve made it to 27.
