Less is more.

Back in the late ’90s, people still walked around with a checkbook. They were bulky, stuffed into suit coats, taking up space in purses and jutting halfway out of back pockets. People were carrying around many more checks than needed as well as carrying an entire ledger of valuable entries. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a checkbook system slimmed down for the next millennium? Well, I thought so. One more stupid attempt at selling an idea.

Checklet Checkbook System.

Introducing a simple little alternative to the bulky checkbook. The Checklet, designed to fit snugly in anyone’s back pocket.

At first glance it looks like a slim wallet but it’s really much more. While it serves a wallet’s purpose, carrying identification, credit cards, and so on, it also works as a small just-in-time checkbook. When you open it up you find a convenient place for five or ten checks and just the number of ledger pages you need to record transactions.

When you have filled out a ledger page, or need more checks, simply go to the master checkbook, to permanently file your record and if needed, grab a few more checks.

The checks, ledger sheets and deposit slips are held in the checking wallet with a Post-it Notes strip on the left-hand side, perforated for easy removal once they are used. Ledger pages are secured in the master checkbook in a sturdy six-ring binder. No longer is it necessary to carry around any more than what is needed.

The wallet and master checkbook are crafted from top grain leather and available in a variety of colors. Additional wallet variations could be made available in a number of styles.
