A new definition of folk art.
The idea was to open an online museum where anyone can upload
anything. A painting. A collage. A family heirloom. Participants would write up a description and have their 15 minutes of fame. The thought was to do it through direct mail, shown at right. How stupid to use direct mail.

Dear Tony Redunzo,
You will either think this is the dumbest letter you have ever received, or one of the most brilliant, for I am about to introduce to you a museum that seriously wants you to consider sending us something of yours, to exhibit.
Introducing The People’s Museum.
The Peoples Museum is dedicated to the premise that all of us have something of value to share with each other. It may be a cherished family heirloom - a lovely old vase from your grandmother, or an historical document - or it might be a drawing or painting that you do on you spare time. Perhaps you are an inventor and would like to show off your latest invention.
This is the place to do it.
Haven’t you ever found yourself in a museum, art gallery, technology display and thought to yourself, I can do that! Well, here is your chance to prove it. The People’s Museum will help you prepare your exhibit for display to the rest of the world. Alongside your display will hang a brief biography and photo of you. And then, in your own words, will be a
description of your valued exhibit.
I know this sounds revolutionary but bear with me for just a minute and consider the
possibilities of showing the world something you hold dear.
(More text to come)
We look forward to your contribution.
Sincerely
Thom Sandberg
Museum Director
